Quick, easy, and painless results
My experience with the Phillips Lumea 7000 has been great from the start. This was my first trial of permanent hair removal, and I was pleasantly surprised at how easy the process was, as well as how many areas could be treated. The treatments were surprisingly comfortable, even at intensity level 5/5, which I was a little nervous about at first. It was helpful that the device suggests an intensity level for you. I started seeing positive results after just two sessions, with less hair growth and less coarse hair for what did grow back. The app was super helpful, not only for reminding me when my next session was due but also for walking me through all the how-tos for different treatment areas, as I was not super confident in my skills being a new user. I’m really looking forward to saving time on self-care maintenance with less shaving! Highly recommend!

Easy to use, no discomfort, too early to tell how effective it is though
I have light skin and dark hair, and I’ve tried this once in a few areas, and overall have found it easy to use. One main thing I’d recommend is closing your eyes when pulling the trigger. I figured there would not be a need to do that since the device won’t work if not making solid contact with skin, but the first time I pulled the trigger I really dazzled my eyes. A lot of light escaped around the device even though it was making good contact with skin. After that I closed my eyes every time I pulled the trigger. I could hear the device flash, and I could see the blast of light through my eyelids, so for me it was easy to tell that it was working with my eyes shut.When you plug this in, a light on the device will illuminate, but this is a standby mode, so you still have to press the power button to fully turn the device on.For me, I noticed no pain at all on the highest setting, not even any discomfort. I’ve had in-office laser treatments at a two different dermatologists office, and that was very uncomfortable, even painful. For me, this device is nothing like that at all. If this device ends up being effective, I will happily trade the discomfort for the hair removal not being permanent/as long lasting.This device seems to need very good contact with skin in order to be triggered, and is less forgiving than other IPL devices I’ve tried, which is good in that it minimizes the amount of stray light. If I didn’t get good contact and the device wouldn’t trigger, I could slightly rock the device around in different directions until it made good contact. The status light on the back is easy to see, so it’s easy to tell if you have good contact or not.If you are going to try this on small areas like upper lip, chin, toes then you might have difficulty getting the device to trigger and flash. For me, this worked fine on the tops of my feet and smaller toes that fit tight together, but would not trigger on my big toe.One thing that seems to be different about this device vs other brands is that it looks like the different attachments don’t have different windows in them. Rather it looks like the different attachments filter the light so as to not hurt more delicate skin. So it seems like getting other attachments wouldn’t help trigger the device on smaller areas.The instructions say not to use on ears, nose, or breasts, so be aware of that if that’s your intended purpose. You could check with a dermatologist to see what they say as well.I noticed that the the instructions say that tests show up to 60% or 65% (I forget which) effectiveness in hair removal. It will be 2-3 months before I am able to say how effective this is, and will update the review at a later time.

A great at home option for hair removal
I really liked using this product. I had heard about how great IPL is as a hair removal option but hadn’t tried it before. I found this to be really fast and straight forward to use. It’s definitely a lot less painful than waxing and while you have to shave beforehand, I didn’t find it to take too much longer than shaving. I’ve heard of other IPL options being on a pretty frequent schedule but being able to do it only once every two weeks is super manageable for me. I didn’t notice much of a change after the first session but definitely did after the second. With how fast I noticed a difference, I’m excited to keep up with the IPL regimen and will likely use this product on additional body parts. I did find the skinsense setting selected for me to be a little painful but was able to easily select a lower setting that wasn’t painful.

Easy home IPL routine—big areas go faster than I expected
I got this for my fiancée, and I helped her set it up and keep the routine consistent for a few weeks (we did the first couple sessions two weeks apart, as recommended). The device feels well-built and the curved body attachment is genuinely useful—legs go quicker because you can keep good contact without constantly re-aiming the head.The SenseIQ/contact behavior is also nice because it kind of “guides” you into doing it right. If the head isn’t flush, it simply won’t flash, which prevented a lot of accidental misfires while learning. It’s also more comfortable than she expected on lower-to-mid settings, and the companion app reminders were surprisingly helpful for staying on schedule.The downside is that it’s still a time commitment, especially at the start. Even with the large window, you’re doing methodical coverage, and it’s not something you rush. If you’re willing to treat it like a routine (not a one-and-done gadget), it’s a solid at-home option.

Simple, easy to use, & it actually works!
I was very nervous to purchase this product and try it, so I read the directions very carefully before using. There is an app to help with videos and reminders on when to do the next session; however, I used my own calendar reminders. Once I used it the first time, it was SO EASY! I was very pleasantly surprised at how quick and simple it was to use! I adjusted the intensity levels so that it was more comfortable, and I was so surprised that I saw results on just the 2nd level of intensity. I had previously had no positive results with hair removal products or spa-treatments, and after just 2 treatments I noticed thinner and less hair growth under my arm pits and on my legs. There are different models with more features, so I wish I had attachments for smaller areas like toes. The device needs to be level on the skin, so it may take a little maneuvering to get the correct placement in order for the device to give the green ready light. I am very pleased with my results after just a few sessions, and look forward to using it more. My husband is also so excited to keep it and use it in more areas. It has worked for both of our skin (tan) and hair colors (dark blonde and brown). Love it!
